Run to GBC...Run.

I turn off the alarm, and say to myself just five more minutes.... half an hour to forty minutes later, I jolt out of bed and run into the shower... and so begins another day as a George Brown College student.

I can't hardly believe that it's been two and half years. As I rush through my morning routine, getting dressed, doing hair( which is short for sake of time), I muse over the fact that, the location is so convenient, that it was a selling point in itself. Down town Toronto and a short street car or subway ride, and there I am!
As the course comes to an end, I take a look at the school as if I was a  tourist again, and I am finding more things, as the weeks quickly come to a close. The school is designed to embrace diversity in a big way.Do get informed about programs such as: disabilities services, communication, gender centred programs, etc, as you consider your application to the college.

Because of it's location, the college helps you connect to the city around you ( I go to St.James campus) in a very organic way.
The college offers a series of opportunities. We are students and on a budget, so consider this:

There is a farmers market within the school every Thursday...it's very well priced fresh food

The chef school at the culinary building, runs a very affordable food store.

The esthetician school has a beauty shop across the street. Yep! Affordable spa treatments while you wait for your next class...we still need to look good even on a budget.

A little bit of culture please...George Brown and Salt and Pepper theatre company, patterned up to create a performing art centre at the Distillery district.Tickets are affordable and the shows are good.

...and if you must endure Summer school, then you might just need one of these at one point...

Back to my morning routine. If I pack my food at night, and go to bed early enough (it hardly ever happens), I always "try" to make it in on time. Sometimes though, I do suffer the unpleased looks from the profs, and the "afternoon'' greetings from my classmates.  It looks like it's nearly time again, so I better run, to make sure that I get into the next class at a decent time.
